Testimonials from past students
Jordan is a rockstar! So knowledgeable and super adept at teaching us complicated concepts. Loved the practice sheets and the fact they were from real manuscripts!
Jordan is articulate, witty, energetic and patient. She delivers valuable content in an accessible format and is also very accessible herself. She was a great guide and cheerleader throughout.
This class was so engaging - you could tell Jordan was extremely experienced and really likes the work that she does. The exercises we did in class were really helpful.
Jordan is so knowledgeable and enthusiastic. She included a lot of content for a 2-week class. In addition, she shared a variety of professional resources that we could engage with after the course ended in order to continue our education and advancement. The writing/book world can be so elusive, and it was awesome to be in a class with a teacher who made that world less intimidating.

Writing the Self: Small Mirrors, Mouths, & Movements with Shaina Phenix
This 3-hour workshop asks that you write yourself—things you observe, feel, understand, and ways that you move through and experience the world.
Here we aim to exalt the every day, to dissect the abounding, to say the things we might not otherwise say, to see where it takes us. This course is interested in the essayette, the cronica, the prose poem, or any other smallish iteration of the personal narrative. We hope to use these small vessels to take magnifying glasses to our memories, movements, and meditations.
*This workshop will be recorded if you can’t attend live!
